I am thankful for the opportunity to teach math at Trinity Classical School this year! As our empty-nest years approach, I have been seeking opportunities to serve my community beyond my little household. For several years I volunteered with our local Meals-on-Wheels program, but when I learned of the opportunity to teach math part-time at Trinity, it felt like the right time to re-enter the work world. I look forward to working with parents educating their children with a Christian world view.
I studied Math Education at Berry College—where I met my husband, Rodney, as well as Susan and Mike Ramsey. Following graduation, I earned a Master’s Degree in Mathematics Education from UGA. I taught high school math in Northwest Georgia for several years and have spent the last 15 years homeschooling our three children. With the youngest of our three graduating this year, I have worked myself out of a job!
Teaching my children has been a joy, but now that I have more spare time, I enjoy working on projects around our home and yard, spending time with extended family, and traveling to see this beautiful world God made. With our local church, I am thankful to spend time in fellowship and to hear the Truth from God’s Word. I hope I carry that Truth with me into my classroom. ~ Jill Chandler
